Welcome

The fields of architecture and engineering plan and design our building environments. This is an exciting career choice involving many different aspects of the construction process.

The architecture and engineering professions need designers and technicians to assist in the planning, drafting, calculating of the construction documents. In our ever changing world, there is a constant need for new and renovated buildings. Technicians, with the skills and talents needed, will play a vital role in shaping our future building designs.

The architecture and engineering fields offer a wide range of career possibilities, job security, respect, upward mobility, great salary, life long employment, and opportunity. Technicians can use their skills in a variety of locations from large metropolitan areas to smaller rural settings.

The fields of architecture and engineering are a high tech career choice with constant innovations. If you find an excitement in being involved in the design process, and want to make a difference in how our future cities look, the Architectural-Engineering Technology Program may be for you.

Mission

Program Mission Statement:

The goal of the Architectural-Engineering Technology Program is to prepare students with the technical skills and knowledge for successful careers in the fields of architecture and engineering.



Overview

The Architectural-Engineering Technology Program is a six quarter (18 month) program. The student is on campus participating in lecture/lab courses during all six quarters. This program is designed to give the student the skills needed to find successful employment in the architectural and engineering fields.

All tuition, fees, books, required tools, and related costs are the responsibility of the student.

The Architectural-Engineering Technology Program at Southeast Community College is fully accredited by the State of Nebraska and by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Upon successful completion of the program the student will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree.


Requirements

  • Students should have a great desire to be involved in the architecture and engineering fields. Math, science and communication skills are used extensively in this career choice.

  • Complete an Application for Admission form and return it to SCC-Milford Campus. The students accepted for this class will be chosen on a first come first served basis. Complete and Submit Application for Admission – Milford Campus.

  • All applicants are responsible for scheduling an appointment to take the COMPASS test. ACT scores may be accepted. Please call the SCC-Milford Campus Assessment Office, 402-761-8202 or 1-800-933-7223, Ext. 8202 for an appointment.

Student Responsibilities

  • Attain a minimum grade of 2.0 in program courses for continuation in program

  • Maintain attendance standards according to college policy

  • Dress appropriately for the learning environment while maintaining a business-like atmosphere

  • Participate in all learning activities at the scheduled times

  • Be responsible for program costs: tuition, fees, books, and tools
