Collision repair technicians are highly skilled members of a respected trade. Southeast Community College Collision Repair Technology Program was the first program in Nebraska to be Certified by NATEF National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation. The Auto Collision Repair Technology Program has been supplying technicians since 1946. The collision repair program at SCC is designed to develop entry level skills in areas such as basic metal repair, welding, refinishing, structural repair, estimating, and mechanical & electrical repair.
Following Graduation of the Auto Collision Repair Technology Program, the student has opportunities in the following career areas: Collision Repair Technician, Automotove and Truck Refinish & Prep Technician, Insurance Appraiser/Estimator, Structural Repair Technician, Sales Representative, Aviation Refinish & Prep Technician, Auto Restoration/Street Rod Technician.
The Collision Repair Technology Program is a six quarter (18 month) program. The program is a hands-on based training process; students will work on projects that they repair to a pre-accident condition. The students have the opportunity to work on their own vehicle if it fits in the training program.
Upon successful completion of the program the student will be awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree.
Program Mission Statement:
The mission of the Auto Collision Repair Technology Program is to prepare individuals for employment as high quality entry level technicians in the collision repair field.
The Auto Collision Repair Technology Program Goals:
Complete the Candidate Application and return it to SCC-Milford Campus. The students accepted to the program on a first come first served basis. Upon completing the application and returning it all applicants are responsible for scheduling an appointment to take the COMPASS test. The ACT scores may be accepted. Applicants with satisfactory test scores will be accepted to the program. Those applicants that do not achieve satisfactory assessment scores, they will be advised to assist in correcting their deficiencies prior to entering the program. This process is done to ensure the best opportunity to for success of the student.
All tuition, fees, books, required tools, and related costs are the responsibility of the student. Tools are included in the total cost as on the estimated cost list. See estimated cost list.
It is the responsibility of the student to maintain attendance standards according to the college policy.
