The field of Human Services is a broad one with the objective of meeting human need through an interdisciplinary knowledge base, focusing on prevention as well as remediation of problems and maintaining a commitment to improving the overall quality of life for all people. The Human Services profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but by also seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery. Ultimately, the goal is to help people solve their own problems.
The Human Services program requires a minimum of eight quarters to complete the program Associate of Applied Science Degree in Human Services. The Human Services Program at Southeast Community College is fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools and Council for Standards in Human Service Education.
