Scholarships

Institutional Scholarships

The Southeast Community College scholarship program was established to promote and encourage interest in education for the students planning to enroll, to reduce the student’s financial obligation and to recognize outstanding academic achievement in course work already completed at SCC. Scholarships are considered gift aid and do not require repayment unless the donor has clearly indicated repayment procedures in the scholarship announcement.

Educational Foundation

The Southeast Community College Educational Foundation was organized in 1975, with the sole intent of maintaining, developing and extending services to the College and to further educational opportunities to students, staff and the residents of the Area which it serves. The mission of the Foundation is to support the vitality and growth of SCC to benefit students, staff and communities it serves.

• High school seniors can make application for consideration of scholarships by submitting an on-line scholarship application prior to the February 1 deadline. Late submissions cannot be considered.
  
• Returning students enrolled in a program of study at Southeast Community College can submit an on-line scholarship application for consideration of scholarships twice a year. Submissions dead line dates are April 15 for the Summer and Fall Quarters and November 1 for the Winter and Spring Quarters.

Outside Scholarships

Outside scholarships are provided by organizations outside of Southeast Community College. The student is notified by the organization of their award and it is the responsibility of the student to notify the Financial Aid Office of the scholarship amount.

Specific information regarding the outside scholarship must be provided to the Business Office for proper handling. It may be necessary for the Business Office to bill the organization for receipt of the funds. Upon receipt, the funds will be placed in an account and held until aid is officially paid where it will be credited to the student’s account.

Institutional Grants

SCC Grant Funds
The SCC Tuition Grant is a waiver of tuition or a portion of tuition for one or more terms and not a cash award. Students apply by completing the FAFSA. This institutional grant is awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need eligibility. A student must also be enrolled for 6 or more hours and must be a Nebraska resident. Notification of the award is made on the student’s award letter from SCC.
