SCC Board Solicits Member to Fill Unexpired Term

Due to the resignation of Richard Scott, At-Large representative to the Southeast Community College (SCC) Board of Governors, the SCC Board is accepting applications for this vacated position. The person appointed will serve until December 31, 2008, and may choose to run for the position in the 2008 elections.
Any person interested in appointment to the vacant SCC Board seat must be a registered voter and a resident for six months within the 15-county SCC district. State law also indicates that any person who receives an appointment to the SCC Board cannot be a member of any other education-related board or commission.
The SCC Board of Governors meets on the third Tuesday of each month in the late afternoon. Board members are not paid for service on the Board but they are reimbursed for Board related expenses.
The SCC 15-county district includes Cass, Fillmore, Gage, Jefferson, Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline, Saunders, Seward, Thayer, and York counties.
Any person interested in the SCC Board position should send a letter indicating his or her interest in the position and a brief resume, including address and telephone number to:

Letters of interest and resumes must be received in the SCC Area Office on or before Friday, September 28, 2007, at 5 p.m.
