SCC Entrepreneurship Center Sponsoring Pair of Business Workshops

If you own your own business or are thinking about starting one, Southeast Community College's Entrepreneurship Center is offering two inexpensive workshops that can help.

Two Focus on Business Workshops are scheduled in the next couple of months, said Tim Mittan, director of SCC's Entrepreneurship Center.

"These are fun, interactive and informational," Mittan said. "We've designed these workshops to provide people with the knowledge and inspiration to help them take charge of their business success."

The workshop "Insure with Confidence" takes place 6:30-9:30 p.m. May 5 in Room 214 of the Entrepreneurship Center, 285 S. 68th St. Place, Lincoln. Gayla Martin of Unico Insurance is the presenter. The session will explain in simple terms the various forms of insurance needed and explain the importance of each. The major forms of insurance that will be discussed are business property, liability, workers compensation, health benefits, and life insurance.

The workshop "Webs, Wikis & Blogs" will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m. June 2, also in Room 214 of the Entrepreneurship Center. This workshop is designed to help people bring their business into the 21st century through the use of many tools that are technical in nature.

"Technology changes have created new opportunities for electronic commerce," Mittan said.

The cost for each workshop is $29 per person. To register, call (402) 437-2700 or 800-828-0072.
