ABE/GED Orientation Schedule Set For May At SCC's Beatrice Campus
A weekly orientation schedule for persons who plan to enroll in Adult Basic Education/General Education Development classes at Southeast Community College's Beatrice Campus has been set.
Orientation sessions are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Tuesdays, May 5, 12, 19 and 26. Persons interested in enrolling are asked to call the ABE office at SCC at 228-8236 or 1-800-233-5027 ext. 236 to register for an orientation session.
ABE is a federal and state program that provides basic education skills at no cost to individuals who are 16 years of age and older and not enrolled in school.
The major components of ABE include GED preparation for those without a high school diploma; basic skills for those who need to improve in a specific area or enhance their life skills; English as a Second Language for residents who wish to learn to speak, read and write English; and citizenship classes for those wishing to become a United States citizen.
