SCC Music Students Wrap Up Summer Quarter With Performance in Beatrice

Students in Southeast Community College's music program will hold a performance at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21 in Room 207 of the Truman Center on the Beatrice Campus.

The event is free and open to the public.

Solos and duets are scheduled to be performed during the evening, which marks the end of SCC's Summer Quarter. The Fall Quarter begins Oct. 5.

Three of instructor Kim Zimmerman's students will perform vocal solos. They are Alicia Lenners of Beatrice, Aaron Henderson of Beatrice, and Mindy Harms of Hallam (Parkview Christian High School).

Vocal duets will be performed by Chelsea Johansen of Friend and Latisha Osborne of Fairbury. They are under the direction of Maybelle Circle. Songs to be performed:

"We're Gonna Put on a Show" by Jay Althouse; "Ja-Da, Ja-Da, Jing Jing Jing" by Greg Gilpin; "Through the Eyes of a Child" by Mark Burrows and Gilpin; "It All Begins With a Dream" by Nancy Price and Don Besig; "Cripple Creek" by Emily Crocker; "Beautiful Dreamer" by Steven Foster and arranged by David Dusing; "Let Me Fly" by Jerry Depuit; "As Long As I Have Music" by Price and Besig; and "When You're Smiling," arranged by Althouse.

Lenners, also one of Dr. Ken Hoppmann's students, also will perform a piano solo.
