Kraus Presented SCC-Milford's Outstanding Alumnus Award
Scott Kraus, a divisional vice president for O'Reilly Auto Parts, was presented Southeast Community College's Milford Campus Outstanding Alumnus Award during the Summer Quarter commencement exercises Sept. 24.

Kraus is a September 1998 graduate of SCC's Parts Marketing & Management program. Dennis Medinger, program chair, presented Kraus with the award.
"Scott has had a very positive impact on the aftermarket industry," Medinger said.
Following graduation from SCC, Kraus began his career at O'Reilly Auto Parts as a parts associate at the Cornhusker Highway store in Lincoln. A year later, he advanced to manager of the same store.
In 2001, he advanced to become a district manager for the company in western Iowa. In that position, Kraus was responsible for various tasks, including growing sales and increasing profits, overseeing the operation of eight to 12 stores, and managing retail and commercial sales.
In 2005, Kraus became regional field sales manager for O'Reilly in Iowa and Illinois, overseeing 70 stores. Two years later, he was promoted to regional director for O'Reilly Auto Parts in Minnesota and Wisconsin, directing 90 stores. And earlier this year, he became divisional vice president for the northern United States, which is comprised of Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, North Dakota, Montana and Wyoming. He is responsible for more than 300 O'Reilly Auto Parts stores.
During the past decade, Kraus has received many accolades. In 2004, he received the District Manager Excellence in Leadership Award, and he is one of only two people to have climbed the corporate ladder at O'Reilly Auto Parts, to the position of vice president, so quickly. For his alma mater, he served as an advisor and sponsored and trained Parts Marketing & Management students for their cooperative education.
When Kraus isn't working, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He and his wife, Ann, live in Delano, Minn., where he is a member of the Lion's Club. He plays golf and watches all types of sports. He is a big fan of Cornhusker football.
SCC's Outstanding Alumni Award goes to a graduate who has consistently demonstrated an ability to pursue excellence in their workplace and community. They are men and women who are pacesetters in business excellence. They are people who are committed to taking their education at SCC and building on what they have learned, as they provide services to their respective employers and clients. They represent professionals who have offered their expertise and assistance toward the improvement of their respective communities.
