Southeast Community College offers classes to prepare adults to become a citizen of the United States.
Information is provided on:

To be eligible to become a citizen of the United States, a person must:

  • Be 18 years old or older
  • Have legally entered the U.S.
  • Have been a legal permanent resident of the U.S. for five years or three years if married to a citizen
    of the U.S.
  • Have the ability to read, write and speak English
  • Have the basic knowledge of U.S. history and government
  • Have good moral character
