Candidates interested in obtaining a CIW Associate Certification must pass one required CIW Exam. To prepare for the exam, SCC recommends a candidate take the CIWv5 Foundations Course (INFO-3350) - Skills for Every Job
Computer and Internet technologies are used in every workplace today. CIW Associate certification validates practical skills for every 21st-century job. Online fundamentals – such as Web browsing, research, e-mail, documentation, project management, networking and Web development – make every employee more valuable, from the IT team to the marketing team, the executive assistant to the executive VP, the work-at-home mom to the entrepreneur. What do you want to be? The CIW Associate makes you better. Curriculum titles covered in the Foundations class are Internet Business, Site Development and Network Technology.
CIW Associates have mastered the fundamental knowledge and skills required to work in an Internet technology-enabled environment. These foundational skills include basic knowledge of Internet technologies such as Web browsers, FTP and e-mail; Web page authoring using Extensible Hypertext Markup Language (XHTML); basic infrastructure networking, and project management.
CIW Associate certification is valuable for individuals working in fields such as sales, business development, advertising, technical recruiting and other areas that depend on Web-enabled systems for productivity.
