Enhance * Educate * Empower * Entrepreneurs
The impetus for creating the center came from researching the need for entrepreneurship education. That research began in the Summer of 2003 and continued through the Summer of 2004. Based on these findings, as well as the results from a Gallup survey on Entrepreneurship in Nebraska, the college began offering credit courses in Entrepreneurship starting in the Fall of 2004. The building at 285 South 68th Street Place was purchased by SCC in December of 2005 and the center began to take shape.
Lincoln Public Schools began their Entrepreneurship Focus Program in August of 2006. The first tenants for the Business Incubator moved in to the center in February of 2007. The center continues to add new clients to the incubator program and looks toward graduation of the existing tenants within three years of their entry to the business incubator.
