Overview
This is an exciting career choice involving many different aspects of the construction process. Designers and technicians assist in the planning, drafting and calculating of construction documents. SCC’s program is six quarters. Students are on campus participating in lecture/lab courses during all six quarters. This program is designed to give students the skills needed to find successful employment in the architectural and engineering fields. SCC’s program is fully accredited by the state of Nebraska and by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
Mission
The mission of the Architectural Engineering program is to prepare students with the technical skills and knowledge for successful careers in the fields of architecture and engineering.
Job Outlook
Most graduates are hired into small architecture or engineering firms. Some work for builders or government agencies. Graduates working in related fields reported an average salary of $14.45 per hour, with a high of $17.30 per hour.
