Mission
The mission of the Automotive Technology program is to prepare individuals for employment as high-quality entry-level technicians in the automotive repair field.
Job Outlook
Program graduates work in independent repair shops, dealerships and specialty shops. The number of jobs for automotive service technicians and mechanics is projected to grow faster than average for all occupations during the next decade. Employment growth will create many new jobs, but total job openings will be significantly larger because many skilled technicians are expected to retire and will need to be replaced. The average hourly salary is $12.50, with a range of $8-$16.40.
