SCC’s Computer Programming Technology program has developed a unique focus. We provide a multi-platform computing environment where students gain lab experience with IBM PC and web page applications, IBM System z (Mainframe) and IBM System i (AS400) applications. With a large number of current business applications residing on the mainframe, industry needs individuals who understand the existing system environments as well as new technology. With the presence of the Internet, businesses can now provide Web access to information on the System z (Mainframe) or System i (AS400) that was previously inaccessible to the consumer. With the wide range of programming experiences that our students receive, they are prepared to seek employment from a broad selection of career opportunities.
