Overview
Welcome to SCC’s Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic program, a two-year program designed to provide students the knowledge, skills and attitudes consistent with the expectations of the public and the profession. EMS/Paramedic students will complete the coursework in classrooms and laboratories and gain hands-on training while working in hospitals and with ambulance services. Graduates will take the National Registry certifying examination at the completion of the Program.

The mission of the Emergency Medical Services/Paramedic program is to provide the highest quality EMS education. The program strives to produce paramedics who possess a comprehensive knowledge base and exceptional clinical abilities. SCC graduates are expected to be leaders in the field of Emergency Medical Services, who will provide a high level of compassionate patient care and who are intelligent in their approach to the discipline of pre-hospital medicine.

There is an average of 30 jobs available per year over the long term projected to 2016. With the growing elderly population, there is a possibility those numbers could increase. Graduates report an average salary of $14.85 per hour, with a high salary of $16.50 per hour.
