Program Requirements & Student Responsibilities
- Submit a completed Health Statement before acceptance into the program.
- Be able to meet essential functions.
- A minimum grade of C+ (75%) in all MEDT courses in order to progress in the program.
- A minimum grade of C (70%) in all General Education and Related Science courses.
- Maintain attendance standards according to the MLT requirements.
- Participate in all learning activities at scheduled times.
- Demonstrate affective behaviors in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings.
- Follow all safety requirements while on campus and during clinical education experiences.
- Attain current CPR for Healthcare Providers American Heart Certification and repeat skin test for tuberculosis and/or a chest X-ray prior to Clinical Education I.
- Maintain current immunizations, including influenza as required.
- Complete a Criminal Background Check prior to Clinical Education I. Based on the outcome of the Criminal Background Check, a student may be prevented from taking certain courses, accessing certain laboratory experiences or completing the program. A non-refundable fee of $45 will be assessed for the Criminal Background Check.
- Submit to and pass drug testing and/or fingerprinting if requested by the clinical site.
- Be responsible for transportation to and from assigned clinical sites during Clinical Education I, II and III.
- Maintain appropriate professional conduct at all times during clinical and didactic courses.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personal health information of the patient and abide by HIPPA regulations.
- Be responsible for program costs; tuition, fees, books, and supplies.
