The Welding Program at SCC is an Accredited Test Facility through the American Welding Society, and students who achieve an AAS degree will be qualified/certified to a national code through this facility upon graduation.

Overview
Students are accepted into the program every quarter. The program also offers flexible hours accommodating both full and part-time schedules. This allows students to choose day, afternoon, evening and also Saturday classes to meet their schedule.
The program includes classroom instruction and extensive hands-on training and simulates requirements of nationally recognized codes and standards.

Our mission is to educate and prepare students for gainful employment and to meet the needs of the welding technology fields. We constantly strive to meet the needs of our students and industry through specialized classes and customized training.
Job Outlook
Employment of welding, soldering, and brazing workers is expected to grow more slowly than average. They will have excellent job opportunities as some welding employers report difficulty finding trained welders. SCC program graduates are employed in various industrial applications both locally and nationally. Recent graduates report an average starting salary of $16.75 per hour, with a high salary of $32.10 per hour.
