Welcome to SCC’s Concurrent Enrollment page.

SCC is committed to working with local school districts to provide students the opportunity to earn college credit while in high school.

There are a number of on-site and distance learning options available:

  1. On-Site: Some courses are currently offered at local high schools and taught by an SCC approved instructor (usually a current high school teacher). This list changes each semester, so please contact your high school guidance counselor or either Randy Hiatt or Janet Claassen (contact information listed below) for a
    current listing.

  2. Distance Learning:
    • Online: Some courses are offered ONLINE to high school students. High school students should contact their counselor for information to enroll. These courses are offered on a semester schedule for high school students.

    • Fiber Network: These are classes offered via the fiber optic network into high schools' Distance Learning rooms. The sending and receiving sites vary.

    • Partnership Program: These classes are taught by the high school teacher with an approved SCC Instructor as the partner to assure college material and precision. These classes are offered with Dual Credit for the high school student. Students should see their high school counselor to enroll.

    • Career Academies: The Southeast Nebraska Career Academy Partnerships are between SCC, ESU 2, 3, 5, and 6, area school districts, health care providers, and business and industry in nine counties in southeast Nebraska. Classes are for high school juniors or seniors who attend 31 school districts. Students earn SCC credit and may also earn high school credit by participating in the career exploration activities and assignments of the academies. Classes are taught either face-to-face or through distance learning.
