Student Organizations
Agribusiness Club is an active organization designed for students enrolled in the Agriculture Business & Management program on the Beatrice campus. Students develop leadership skills by participating in the club’s activities which in turn improves their qualifications for professional employment.
College/Community Band is composed of SCC students, faculty, staff, and community members. The group presents fall, spring, and holiday concerts that typically consist of light classical music. Auditions for the group are not required and participants earn an hour of college credit.
Horticulture Club members learn to cultivate and show flowers and ornamental plants. Participants also join in social and educational activities designed to further their professional development.
Humanities Club provides students with opportunities to experience the visual and performing arts at SCC and in eastern Nebraska. Student participants plan group trips to visit local art galleries, museums, plays, and musical performances. The purpose of Humanities Club is to promote student appreciation and understanding of the arts. This club is open to all interested students regardless of program major.
International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAPP) Student Chapter is an affiliate program of the professional organization, International Association of Administrative Professionals. Membership is open to any student enrolled in at least one course in a business curriculum. The purpose is to provide information, support and networking to students who are interested in a business related profession, more specifically in an administrative professional vocation. Members will be encouraged towards monthly participation.
Licensed Practical Nurses Association of Nebraska (LPNAN) is a student organization for LPN students that provides members with leadership training and orientation to professional organizations. It serves as a network with other students throughout the state of Nebraska.
Livestock Judging Club provides leadership development and support for students who want to participate in college level livestock judging competitions. Members have the opportunity to travel and compete in contests throughout the Midwest. College scholarships are available to members of the Livestock Judging Team.
Multi Ethnic Student Organization (MESO) provides opportunities for students to become more culturally sensitive and aware of multi-cultural and human relations issues. This organization provides an avenue for students to gain skills to set and meet goals, improve their coping skills, increase knowledge and skills on how to make the system work, and to experience greater involvement on campus.
Phi Beta Lambda is a national business honorary society for college business students. It is the college level equivalent of Future Business Leaders of America. Phi Beta Lambda promotes interest in business administration, accounting and secretarial education, and helps members gain self-confidence and develop leadership skills.
Phi Theta Kappa - Eta Alpha Chapter is a national two-year college honorary organization is comparable to Phi Beta Kappa at a four-year college. It is open to students who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Students are invited to join in the Summer and Winter quarters. Members are involved in a variety of campus and community service projects and are eligible to apply for transfer scholarships to four-year institutions.
Rodeo Club provides leadership development and support for students who participate in the collegiate rodeo events. Membership is open to all SCC-Beatrice students. The Rodeo Club is affiliated with the Great Plains Section of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). Club members have the option of joining NIRA and competing in ten sanctioned Great Plains rodeo events each school year, collecting points to qualify for the Collegiate National Finals. College scholarships are available to members of the Rodeo Club.
