SCC will field its first-ever intercollegiate baseball team beginning this fall. Cissell, 6-foot-1 and 185 pounds, was injured much of his senior year but comes highly recommended by Joe Siwa, Omaha's "Mr. Baseball." Cissell, the son of Gary and Teresa Cissell, was a member of the Strike Zone elite team in 2007 and made its all-star team that same year. He will play first and third base for the Storm.

Doggett, a 6-foot, 170-pounder, is a middle infielder who lettered two years at Gretna. His high school coach, Russ Fittje, says Doggett was one of the hardest working players on the team and improved tremendously the last two years. Doggett, the son of Daniel and Kimberly Doggett, also was a member of the Strike Zone elite team and a member of the fall all-star team. He was an academic all-conference selection, and Cullison says he will be a nice fit for SCC's initial team.

"Both are good quality kids, good students and good baseball players," Cullison said.

SCC will field its first intercollegiate baseball team beginning this fall. The Storm will compete in Region IX of Division II of the National Junior College Athletic Association. The team also will compete in the Nebraska Community College Athletic Conference.
