Nursing Assistant

  • Seek A Fulfilling Career as a Nursing Assistant!

Nursing Assistants provide care for patients in long-term care facilities, hospitals, home health care, hospice or mental health facilities. Nursing assistants' duties vary, from providing help with activities of daily living for the patients such as ambulating, feeding, to bathing, toileting, dressing etc. under the supervision of a Registered nurse or Licensed Practical nurse.

One of the prerequisites for any nursing program in Nebraska and many other states is that you must be on the Nurse Aide Registry. To do that you must take an approved course and pass state exams. Successful completion of this course will put you on the registry.

Southeast Community College’s Nursing Assistant Course is approved by the Nebraska Department of Health.
