Southeast Community College's Continuing Education Division is sponsoring a bus trip Sept. 8 to the Culinary Center of Kansas City.
A chartered bus will leave from Beatrice and Lincoln early that morning and head to Overland Park, Kan., and the Culinary Center. Once there, Chef Matt Chatfield will share his favorite tasty appetizer recipes and some make-ahead tips that will allow people to spend more time with their guests instead of the kitchen.
Chatfield's innovative recipes will be easy to recreate. Participants will learn how to make Vietnamese Spring Rolls with Peanut Sauce, Crab Diablo-Stuffed Mushrooms, Spicy Moroccan Chicken Kabobs with Mango Chutney, and Bananas Foster.
Participants will engage in a hands-on culinary class, lunch on what was prepared in class, and then spend time shopping at unique locations, including the Prydes of Old Westport.
Cost is $149 per person and includes transportation, hands-on workshop and instruction, and lunch. Students are on their own for shopping and dinner.
Registration deadline is Aug. 23 or when enrollment limit has been met. The bus is scheduled to leave SCC's Lincoln Campus at 8800 O St. (south parking lot) at 6:30 a.m. Sept. 8 and at 7:30 a.m. from SCC's Beatrice Campus at 4771 W. Scott Road (Truman Center parking lot).
To enroll, call 402-437-2700 or email email@example.com.
