Individual photos will be taken between 12:00-1:30 p.m. AND a graduating class group photo will be taken immediately following practice. Please plan to attend so it will truly be a class picture! All photos must be paid for the day they are taken and will be mailed to you in six weeks. Information on photo package options and prices can be found on the special insert with your cap and gown.
Practice will be at 1:30 p.m., the day of graduation, in the Truman Center. Please arrive on time and remember to bring your cap and gown. It is very important to attend the rehearsal so please be sure to mark this on your calendar!
Graduates need to arrive at the College no later than 6:20 p.m. and should check in at the front of the Truman Center. Lineup begins at 6:40 p.m. in the north and south halls. There is no secure place for purses or other valuable items so leave your personal items with a family member or guest during the ceremony.
The Processional: We proceed to the gym promptly at 6:45 p.m. Stay in the same order in which you will be seated. When you have reached your seat in the gym, remain standing (If there is an empty seat, fill in the gap). Bob Morgan, the Beatrice Campus Director, will ask all graduates to be seated before he begins the Welcome.
The Ceremony: The ceremony will last approximately one hour. Be sure to enter onto the stage by the ramp entrance on the far right side. Wait until your name is read before crossing the stage. You will receive your diploma from a member of the Board of Governors and will then return to your chair.
If you receive someone else's diploma by mistake, please see Robert Overkamp, the Associate Registrar, after the ceremony.
The Recessional: After the ceremony, the graduates will proceed out of the gym together.
If you do not plan to attend the graduation ceremony OR have changed your address contact Rose Ohlsen, the Associate Registrar, in the Registration Office, at 402-228-3468 ext. 1213.
