  • Southeast Community College Continuing Education division offers classes designed to enhance your skills in OSHA 10 General Industry Training, Small Engines, industrial and commercial spray finishing, EPA RRP Training & Certification and Forklift Operation. These classes include theory and hands-on training provided by instructors that have years of experience working with industry and educational training.  Our subject matter experts can help you and your team work through real life problems using our training equipment.  Doing so will allow the adult learner the opportunity to explore, research, identify, and solve real world exercises developed to increase their knowledge and understanding of problems they may face in their jobs.

    Our list of classes rotate annually to allow adult learners the opportunity to take classes in Small Engines, Lead Safety through our EPA RRP Training and Certification, Forklift Operator, to OSHA 10-Hour General Industry Training that make sense and fit their scheduling needs. OSHA 10-HOUR General Industry Training is a great way to help improve worker safety awareness. Our Nebraska Finishing Technologies Certification Program offers students that successfully complete the class and written testing to receive a certificate documenting their completion of the training requirements of Subpart 6H (Federal EPA rule 40 CFR Part 63, Subpart HHHHHH).

  • This training is for entry-level general industry workers who need to know how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job-related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of general industry safety and health hazards which a worker may encounter, including an introduction to OSHA, fall protection, emergencies, electrical hazards, personal protective equipment and hazard communications. Students who successfully complete the course will receive a certification card.
    This six-hour class uses state-of-the-art virtual reality technology to provide hands-on training on increasing transfer efficiencies, decreasing material usage, spray booth maintenance, safety procedures, and environmental regulations. This technology shows each finisher how well they do within 1 percent for transfer efficiency and .5 mil for finish thickness. Participants completing this training by passing an exam will earn a five-year certification that can be used as an option to satisfy the federal certification standard and the Nebraska hazardous air pollutant best available control technology requirements.
    This one-day class includes both EPA-HUD approved lead safety training and certification. Any contractor performing qualifying work must employ at least one certified renovator who has successfully completed this training, in addition to being registered as a Lead Safe Certified Firm with the Environmental Protection Agency. The course concludes with a 25-question EPA certification exam. Please note: Pre-registration is required for this class. Walk-ins will not be permitted to attend the class.     This five-hour course for all operators includes safety inspections, design restrictions, lifting, moving and placing loads, driving speeds, directions, and ramps. Students will actually perform a pre-start safety inspection and operate a forklift. Required book available at the SCC Campus Store, 8800 O St., or at www.sccbookstore.com and should be purchased prior to class. NSC Certificate of completion will be given following examination at the end of the course.
