SCC offers free non-credit intermediate-level ESL courses to provide opportunities for students to explore careers and college programs, develop specialized technical vocabulary and become familiar with college faculty, facilities, services and academic expectations.
Please Note: All Vocational ESL courses require successful completion of ESL Level 4 or placement into ESL Level 5 on ESL Placement Test.
To get started: Go to the SCC Continuing Education Office, 8800 O Street, Room J-2, to sign up and pay the registration fee for the ESL Orientation. At the ESL Orientation, the ESL Placement Test will be given to determine which level in our program is best for the student.
PLEASE NOTE: Students who have not previously registered for the SCC ESL program or have been out of class for more than six months must register for the ESL Orientation at Southeast Community College, 8800 “O” Street: Room J-2.
ESL Placement Test: The ESL Placement Test is given during the ESL Orientation. We have ESL Orientation at several locations in Lincoln. Please go to the SCC Continuing Education Office, 8800 O Street, Room J-2, to sign up for the ESL Orientation.
The ESL series of classes is not a full-time program. SCC does not have the authorization to issue a student visa document (Form I-20) for international students to study ESL. Call the Admissions Office at 437-2600 for more information on visa documents.
Basic Level ESL classes are free after the annual $20 registration fee.
