BIOT-2454 - Biotechnology in Foremsics

Prerequisite: BIOT1400 This course is designed to illustrate the uses of biotechnology as applied to the broad field of forensics. Students will gain an appreciation and understanding of the underlying molecular techniques used in a diverse array of settings, including DNA fingerprinting, genetic testing, gene therapy and genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Also, the social, ethical and legal implications of these procedures and applications will be discussed.
