ECED-1521 - Infant Practicum

Pre/Corequisites: ECED 1110, 1060. Co-enrolled in ECED1220 if this is the first practicum. This course is designed to provide an understanding of the developmental stages of children from six weeks through eighteen months of age by participating in hands-on learning experiences in selected child care settings. Students will develop an awareness of appropriate adult/child interactions while developing positive employee skills. Basic skills in planning and implementing a daily routine and curriculum activities for infants are also presented. Students are required to complete a minimum of 45 clock hours of practical work experience in a two day per week format. Attendance at orientation sessions is required. A nominal fee will be assessed for liability insurance coverage on each student.
