Updated March 27, 2020
This information will be updated regularly as it becomes available to inform our students, faculty, staff, and larger community regarding any possible financial aid implications related to the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
While all SCC locations are closed, we continue to monitor the financial aid email account and are available at the financial aid phone line. Our email address is firstname.lastname@example.org, and our phone number is 402-437-2610. If you are unable to reach someone, please leave a voicemail and we will return your call as soon as possible.
We are awaiting further guidance from the U.S. Department of Education. In general, students must continue to maintain minimum program enrollment requirements to receive aid.
If you are planning to officially withdraw from all of your 2020 Spring Semester courses, please consult with an academic and financial aid advisor before doing so. Withdrawing from all courses can negatively affect your Spring 2020 aid.
All borrowers with federally held student loans will automatically have their interest rates set to 0% for a period of at least 60 days. In addition, each of these borrowers will have the option to suspend their payments for at least two months to allow them greater flexibility during the national emergency. This will allow borrowers to temporarily stop their payments without worrying about accruing interest.
Visit StudentAid.gov/coronavirus for forthcoming details.
Documentation for 2019/20 verification can be submitted via fax to 402-437-2402.
