Dr. Dennis Headrick is the vice president for instruction at Southeast Community College.
Headrick has been with SCC for 23 years, holding various leadership roles. He has served as the assistant campus director and campus director of the Beatrice Campus, and as the vice president for instruction the past 17 years. He holds a Ph.D. in Education Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Omaha, a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and an associate degree from SCC.
Headrick has provided leadership in a variety of areas, including distance learning, the Nebraska Transfer Initiative, the college’s assessment program, and global education. He has received numerous awards for his leadership, including an Instructional Leadership Award by the National Council of Instructional Administrators, Administrator of the Year and Global Entrepreneurship Leadership Award by SCC, and Outstanding Alumni Award by the Nebraska Community College Association.
Headrick is involved with the Nebraska Community College Association of Instructional Officers, Partners for Innovation Board, Career Connections Advisory Board, Nebraska Entrepreneurship Task Force, Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board, National Council of Instructional Administrators, and Southwood Lutheran Church. He is a past president of the Beatrice Rotary Club, assistant district governor for District 5650, and mayor of Plymouth, Neb.
Headrick and his wife, Lorie, have two children and three grandchildren. He enjoys reading, traveling and spending time with family.
