As Southeast Community College established a transformational direction to meet the current and future higher education needs of southeast Nebraska, facilities have been renovated and built in Falls City, Hebron, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, Wahoo and York.
What: Learning Center (10,000 sq. ft.) with general purpose classrooms and specialized teaching spaces for Health Sciences, Manufacturing, and Welding.
Why: Until recently SCC has had a minimal presence in 12 of 15 counties. This will establish a stronger presence in the far southeast corner of the state and allow SCC to more directly serve those employers.
Who: Academic Transfer, Nursing, Manufacturing, Welding.
How much: The anticipated cost is $1.8 million.

Interior walls have started to be framed this week and will continue for the next few weeks. MEP rough-ins will follow the framing. Roofing work continues for the next few weeks.

The learning centers are part of a strategic plan created by the College to better serve the educational needs of the communities within the 15-county service area. Each learning center will have its own computer lab and classroom. Credit and non-credit courses will be offered, as well as business and industry training.
