Learning Centers

  • As Southeast Community College established a transformational direction to meet the current and future higher education needs of southeast Nebraska, facilities have been renovated and built in Falls City, Hebron, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, Wahoo and York.

  • What: Learning Center (10,000 sq. ft.) with general purpose classrooms and specialized teaching spaces for Health Sciences, Manufacturing, and Welding.

Why: Until recently SCC has had a minimal presence in 12 of 15 counties. This will establish a stronger presence in the far southeast corner of the state and allow SCC to more directly serve those employers.

Who: Academic Transfer, Nursing, Manufacturing, Welding.

How much: The anticipated cost is $1.8 million.

The learning centers are part of a strategic plan created by the College to better serve the educational needs of the communities within the 15-county service area. Each learning center will have its own computer lab and classroom. Credit and non-credit courses will be offered, as well as business and industry training.
