Welcome to the Great Plains Culinary Institute at Southeast Community College, Lincoln, Nebraska.
The Great Plains Culinary Institute at SCC includes ACF Certified Chef Instructors and is accredited by The American
Culinary Federation Education Foundation. It was part of a $4.2 million expansion at SCC and held it’s ribbon
cutting in Spring 2018.
New, state-of-the-art learning spaces and a working restaurant await students who want to take their passion for food
and turn it into a work of art that will be appreciated using multiple senses.
Great Plains Culinary Institute facilities feature:
- An upscale dining restaurant with an open-concept production kitchen (Course Restaurant).
- Two culinary teaching labs.
- A demonstration classroom.
- A bakery teaching lab.
- A coffee shop (Course Ground Coffee).
Available Programs of Study
The three degrees (Baking/Pastry, Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management) in SCC's Culinary/Hospitality program provide students with a variety of
options within the industry. Students in the Culinary Arts degree will be certified Culinarians with the
American Culinary Federation upon graduation from our program.
Dietary Manager graduates manage food service
operations and ensure food safety in non-commercial organizations such as hospitals, schools, long-term care
and correctional facilities.
