Alaina Williams - “Choosing to be a part of the Global Studies class and trip to Italy/Greece 2017 was one of the absolute best decisions I ever made for myself. The trip was an experience that I will never forget and it showed me that there is so much more out there in world to experience other than our little corner! Having an organized trip with experienced travelers was the best way to travel abroad for the first time. It can be scary and intimidating but the instructors gave us tons of information and travel tips prior to the trip that really just brought forth excitement in the days leading up to our departure. Going to Italy and Greece was life changing and I would do it all over again with the SCC program if I could! I highly encourage anyone who's on the fence about this to take the leap and invest in your global education because you won't regret it!!”
Katy Mohatt - “Traveling as a student has many great benefits. The biggest one is that you get to travel and see the world while learning about the culture that’s right in front of your eyes. What once was seen on a computer screen can come to life. The tour guides are very informed on what you will see and the history behind it. You get a chance to explore with a group of people that you may not have met before. Before you know it, you start to create a great friend group. Two summers ago, when I traveled to Greece and Italy, I barely knew the people I was going with but now I wouldn’t do anything without them. They became my close friends that I love to celebrate life with. We went from seeing the wonders this world has to offer, to becoming a close-knit group. I am so happy that I was able to travel abroad because I was able to experience life and culture with a great group of people and loved learning the history of different countries that I may not have been able to learn as much about if I would have gone with family or by myself. I would trade this student travel abroad experience for anything.”
