SCC, Kansas school reach transfer agreement

SCC, Kansas school reach transfer agreement.

Students who earn an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree from Southeast Community College are now able to transfer their credits to Baker University in Kansas.

An articulation agreement recently was signed by both schools.

Baker, located in Baldwin City, Kan., will accept SCC credits transferring into the university's College of Arts and Sciences under the following criteria:

Only classes with a minimum of a "C" can transfer.

The courses must be college level (no developmental courses).

SCC students with a cumulative grade-point average of 2.6 or higher automatically qualify for an academic scholarship to Baker.

"We are pleased to reach out to the Southeast Community College campuses and provide more opportunities for the students to continue their education," said Mark Bandre, Baker's vice president for enrollment management and student development. "This agreement allows more students in Nebraska to consider pursuing a Baker degree and explore the majors we offer."

Baker, the first college in Kansas, is a four-year liberal arts university.
