Students in Southeast
Community College’s Agriculture Business & Management Technology program
adopted 17 kids in the Beatrice community. Students raise money to buy the kids
toys and clothes during the holiday season.
“The Ag Club spearheads this
event and we try to adopt as many kids as we can for the holidays,” said Annie
Erichsen, instructor. “Each kid we adopt receives $50 of clothing and toys. All
the extra money we raise goes to the local food pantry.”
More than 150 students and
employees at SCC helped raise money for the Adopt-A-Kid fundraiser. This is the
12th year SCC has participated in conjunction with Blue Valle Community Action
in Beatrice.
