SCC art instructors’ work on display

Local artists will display their creations at the Beatrice Public Library this month. The art exhibition is a sampling of works from Southeast Community College art instructors from Beatrice and Lincoln campuses.

"As a college with multiple campuses, this seemed like a great solution to see what everyone was up to by creating a group exhibition of this sort," said Nancy Hagler-Vujovic, an art instructor at the Beatrice Campus and one of the art exhibitors.

Other artists are Nelson Dungan (Beatrice), Carol Pralle (Wymore), Bradley Peters, Debi Smith, Gertrude Teijink, and Rosemary Zumpfe (Lincoln).

The display features acrylic paintings, watercolor, photography, printmaking, mixed media, and ceramics. It runs through April 24.

This will be the first exhibit in the newly renovated space in the Beatrice Public Library's lower level. Hours are Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., and Sundays 2-5 p.m.

"We will have a special open house on Sunday, April 24, from 2:40-4:40 p.m. as an exhibition closing event where some of the artists will be present," Hagler-Vujovic said.

Some of the art will be available for purchase. The exhibition will travel to Marysville, Kansas, during the month of May.
