If you’re interested in
working in the automotive industry, Southeast Community College’s Automotive
Career Expo will let you explore many different careers, as well as apply for
scholarships!
Numerous automotive
businesses will be on site Tuesday, Sept. 28, at SCC’s Lincoln Campus from 6-8
p.m. Two $500 scholarships will be raffled off, as well as four industry-funded
scholarships that prospective students can apply for. There also will be some
custom hot rods on display as well as some hands-on activities.
“We want to showcase all of
the automotive career options,” said Barry Smith, chair of the Automotive
Technology program. “The idea is to get young people and their parents to see
there are good career options that pay well, and you can go far.”
Smith said career options
include shop ownership, service writing, automotive technicians, auto part
sales, body and paint specialists, auto designers, and many others.
