All female athletes who
compete for Southeast Community College Storm athletics will be recognized
following a women’s basketball game vs. Concordia Junior Varsity on Tuesday,
Feb. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Truman Center at the Beatrice Campus. Feb. 6 is National
Girls & Women in Sports Day.
All female athletes and coaches who
attend the game will be recognized and receive a commemorative T-shirt and
certificate. Members of Concordia’s team also will be included. The evening is
in conjunction with the National Junior College Athletic Association and its
recognition of female athletes competing at junior colleges.
“SCC, along with the NJCAA, continues to be
proud of providing opportunities for our female athletes and coaches to push
forward to achieve excellence and greatness in their academics, athletics and
life,” said Dan Johnson, SCC’s athletic director.
Women’s sports at SCC are basketball, cross
country, softball, and volleyball.
