Storm's Hartman earns national honor

Megan Hartman, a sophomore pitcher on Southeast Community College's softball team, earned Pitcher of the Week honors by the National Junior College Athletic Association for her performances the week of Feb. 22-28.

Hartman won two games for the Storm, 17-1 over Cottey College (Missouri) on Feb. 27 and 4-0 over Allen County Community College (Kansas) on Feb. 28. The left-handed Hartman dominated her two games, pitching 12 innings and allowing one earned run and just five hits while walking just one batter. She struck out 19 batters and had an Earned-Run Average of 0.58.

Entering last weekend's games the Lincoln Southwest graduate was 4-0 with a 3.18 ERA and 32 strikeouts. She also is off to a great start with the bat, hitting .524 with two home runs, three doubles and six runs batted in.
