The Southeast Community College men's golf team won its 11th consecutive National Junior College Athletic Association Division II Region IX tournament title Wednesday, qualifying the Storm for the national tournament for an 11th straight season.

Leighton Thomas, Clayton Peterson and Ronan Higgins finished 1-2-3 at the 54-hole two-day Region IX Tournament played at York Country Club.

Thomas, a freshman from York, shot a first-round 79 before blistering the YCC course for a 4-under-par 66 Tuesday afternoon. He finished the event with a 75 on Wednesday for a 220 total, just one stroke better than teammate Clayton Peterson. Higgins, a freshman from Galway, Ireland, carded a 231 with rounds of 75-77-79.

SCC will advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament May 19-22 at Goose Pond Colony Golf Club in Scottsboro, Ala.
