More than 500 students will receive degrees, diplomas and
certificates Friday during Southeast Community College Spring
Quarter graduation ceremonies.
More than 120 students will receive awards during the Milford
Campus ceremony, which begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Welsh Center, 600
State St.
Nearly 150 students, including 40 who graduated following the
2015 Winter Quarter, are scheduled to graduate during the Beatrice
Campus ceremony, which begins at 7 p.m. in the Truman Center, 4771
W. Scott Road.
And more than 300 students will receive awards during the
Lincoln Campus ceremony, which begins at 7 p.m. and will, for the
first time, be held in Pinnacle Bank Arena, 400 Pinnacle Arena
Drive, in Lincoln. The change of venue was prompted by an overflow
crowd at the Lincoln Campus Gymnasium in March.
In Milford, Michael W. Beltz, director of IT operations for
National Research Corporation in Lincoln, will receive the
Outstanding Alumnus Award. He also will deliver the commencement
address.
Daryl L. Bohac, adjutant general of the Nebraska National Guard,
will deliver the commencement address in Beatrice. The 2015
Distinguished Alumni Award will be presented to Dr. Delmer "Del"
Hiesterman, a 1965 graduate of Fairbury Junior College who went on
to become a successful dentist in Montana.
And in Lincoln, Greg Adams, president and executive director of
Accelerate Nebraska and a member of the SCC Educational Foundation,
will deliver the commencement address.
