Diana Kerwin-Kubr is the new
coordinator for Southeast Community College’s Learning Center in Wahoo. A
native of Cedar Bluffs, Kerwin-Kubr spent more than 30 years in different
positions at Metro Community College in Omaha. She is looking forward to her
new role with SCC in Wahoo.
“The Learning Center was
created for the community, for lifelong learning and continuous personal growth
opportunities,” she said. “My goal will be to expand programming and continuing
education opportunities based on community and employer needs in Wahoo and
surrounding areas.”
Kerwin-Kubr lives in Wahoo
with her husband, Rod. The coordinator position was previously held by Jenna
Kettelhake, who moved to Tecumseh. Kerwin-Kubr hopes to take her community
college experience and apply it to her new role at the Wahoo Learning Center.
“It’s been so rewarding to
work with students where the first step to realizing their dream of a college
education was community college,” she said. “To be able to continue my career
working at a community college, all in the community where I live, I am very
lucky!”
The Learning Center at Wahoo
opened in April 2018 as part of SCC’s strategic plan to better serve the
educational needs of communities in southeast Nebraska. The other learning
centers are in Falls City, Hebron, Nebraska City, Plattsmouth, and York.
Kerwin-Kubr invites the
community to stop by the Learning Center at 536 N. Broadway. She can be reached
