Southeast Community College’s
Beatrice Campus has recognized Jocelyn Lambert as the “Ag Student of the Month”
for October. To be selected, Ag instructors look at a number of factors
including grades, attitude and progress in the program.
A native of Auburn, Lambert
chose SCC because she wasn’t sure what she was going to study, so she knew
going to an affordable college where she could transfer easily to a four-year
university would be a good choice. She has since decided to work in
agriculture.
“I live on a farm and have
been around agriculture my whole life, so I wanted to continue in this industry
and I chose to get involved in horticulture,” she said.
Lambert’s favorite memory from SCC
was when her team won the Ag Olympics last spring. She hopes to have an
internship next summer that will lead her to a full-time job in the fall.
“Jocelyn is a great student that
is fully engaged during class,” said instructor Travis Pralle. “She did a great
job during Ag Day, assisting with the various stations and provided instruction
as well.”
SCC Students of the month receive
a special certificate, bookstore gift card and the opportunity to be the Ag
Student of the Year.
