Southeast Community College’s
Entrepreneurship Center is celebrating its 10th anniversary this
For the last decade, the
Entrepreneurship Center has helped a number of people develop their businesses
from an idea to a success story. The full-service hub offers everything from
office space, coaching, educational opportunities, and more.
“During the past 10 years,
the SCC Entrepreneurship Center has helped hundreds of people in southeast
Nebraska achieve their dreams of business ownership,” said Steve Bors, director.
“We average nearly 1,300 coaching meetings a year with existing and potential
entrepreneurs. We also host free workshops and networking events for
prospective business owners.”
A special anniversary party
was held on November 3 to commemorate the event. Two successful incubator
alumni were presented with awards. Tim Mittan, the founding director of the
Entrepreneurship Center, presented the awards to Steve Maly of Maly Marketing
and Piyush Srivastav of NAQS Environmental Specialists.
Srivastav started NAQS Environmental
Experts in Lincoln. It provides environmental consulting services to clients. Maly
is the founder and chief activist of Maly Marketing in Lincoln. His firm helps
clients with digital, strategic and print marketing solutions.
“It was an amazing honor,”
said Maly. “The lessons that I learned through everyone at the Entrepreneurship
Center still guides me today and I credit it for the growth that we have had
over the past three years.”
