Students in Southeast Community College’s Motorcycle, ATV and Personal Watercraft Technology program can now practice their skills on a brand-new Harley-Davidson.

The bike was donated by Harley-Davidson Motor Company and delivered to SCC’s Lincoln Campus by Frontier Harley-Davidson on Friday, Oct. 13, 2017.

Randy Larson was a student in the program. He placed third in this summer’s SkillsUSA National Conference in Louisville, Kentucky, in the Motorcycle Service Technology category. As a result, Harley-Davidson presented a Dyna Wide Glide motorcycle to SCC. Schools of the top three finishers in the category receive motorcycles from the company.

“The contest included a written test, job interview and a series of skills testing engine service, suspension and brakes adjustment and voltage drop testing, along with electrical diagnosis,” said Ken Jefferson, program chair.

Larson works at Dillon’s Brothers Harley-Davidson in Omaha. He graduated from SCC this past summer.
