Southeast Community College’s
Agriculture Business & Management Technology program is celebrating a
milestone. This year marks the 40th anniversary since the inception
of the program in 1976.
“It is exciting for us at
Southeast Community College to know we have graduates out in the business world
that have been positively impacting agriculture for up to 40 years,” said Mark
Goes, an instructor in SCC’s program.
Goes has been teaching for
more than 20 years in the program at SCC. He says the field continues to evolve
and that everyone associated with the program is looking forward to the future.
“Now there is more diversity
of subject matter, more information and more technology, yet there is a
continuing need for fundamental knowledge to apply that to,” Goes said.
The 40th
anniversary celebration will take place on Aug. 20. There will be numerous
events for alumni, current students, or anyone interested in finding out more
about the program.
