Storm, Trojans split first two games

The Southeast Community Collegebaseball team split games with North Iowa Area Community College on Sunday in the North Plains District Tournament at Christenson Field in Beatrice.

SCC lost the first game 9-8 and came back to win the second game 17-1, forcing a deciding Game 3 at 1 p.m. Monday. The winner of Game 3 will advance to the National Junior College Athletic Association Division II World Series that begins Saturday in Enid, Okla.

SCC, 42-20, came from behind in the first game, only to fall short. But in Game 2 the Storm blew out to a 9-0 lead after three innings and coasted to the victory.

With the split, NIACC is now 47-14 on the season.
