Who can I contact at SCC about the latest on residence halls?
The following important message to all students residing in an SCC residence hall was delivered Monday, March 23.

    Dear Residence Hall Students:

We hope you are doing well during this difficult and anxious time. At this time, Southeast Community College has made the decision to close the residence halls by Sunday, March 29. We are asking those students who are on campus right now to make immediate arrangements to check out and return to their permanent home or an alternate location.

Those who are off campus will be asked to schedule a time to return for their belongings and check out prior to March 29. Any students who have travel difficulties with this date will need to communicate with Toni Landenberger, Dean of Students, Beatrice Campus, at or 402-228-8286, or Stacy Riley, Dean of Students, Milford Campus, at or 402-761-8270.

Students who move out of their residence hall for the remainder of the 2020 Spring Semester and complete checkout paperwork prior to Sunday, March 29, 2020, will receive a 50% prorated credit of room and board costs based on their housing facility and dining plan. The credit will be applied to any outstanding balance on the student’s account, and the remaining credit will be refunded to the student.

Students who have not already done so, please sign up for direct deposit to receive this refund at To ensure social/physical distancing and to reduce the number of students on campus at any one time, we will be scheduling checkout times during the week of March 23-29. We also will be requiring students to disclose any out-of-state travel since March 12 (outside of Nebraska). Safety and Security will be contacting those students to discuss whether they will be allowed to come back to campus at this time. If you are not allowed to come back to campus, arrangements will be made for a later checkout date, and refunds will still be honored as of the March 29 due date.

Please complete the form provided via the correct link below for your campus location AS SOON AS POSSIBLE to schedule your check-out time. This is due no later than March 25 at 5 P.M. CST.

Students will be limited to have ONE guest accompany them back to campus to remove their belongings. If more than one person travels with you, only one will be allowed to enter the residence hall.

In order to expedite the checkout process, students will NOT be required to do any cleaning and will NOT be charged a cleaning fee (charges will only be for any damages). You will need to remove all belongings (including all food), take your trash to the dumpster, return your key(s) to Residence Life staff, complete the checkout form with Residence Life staff, and then immediately leave campus.

If you already have all of your belongings removed from campus, DO NOT come back to campus. Contact Residence Life staff on your campus for remote checkout instructions.

If you have any questions about the checkout process or need to contact Residence Life, you may email, call the Beatrice Residence Life Office at 402-228-8291 or the Milford Residence Life Office at 402-761-7398.
