Practicum Education

This one-quarter course serves as a pre-service training and screening before students are placed in a practicum site to work with clients. During this time, students will participate in, and be graded on, a number of activities and simulations.

Practicum courses in SCC's Human Services program are constructed to allow the student to gain experience, skills and attitudes appropriate for working in human services agencies. Students apply for practicum, and placement depends on continuing good standing within the program. Practicum education courses are "with permission" courses; the site a student is assigned to also is only "with permission."
