In August 2019, SCC will convert from a quarter-based academic calendar to a semester-based academic calendar.
This means SCC will hold two 16-week academic terms (fall and spring) and a 10-week summer term instead of the current four, 10-week academic terms (summer, fall, winter, and spring).
This is a multi-year effort to make the transition as smooth and seamless as possible. This website is designed to provide timely information and engage all of the SCC community, prospective students, new students, faculty, staff, and various stakeholders in the conversion process. On this website you will find material about the initiative, including news and announcements; information for SCC students, faculty, and staff; resources about how other colleges have navigated this process and the timeline for our conversion.
The continued success of our students is the highest priority during this conversion. We are committed to a two-way partnership with students to achieve a conversion that does not adversely affect the time or cost to obtain a degree.
Check back often as information will be frequently updated!
